Client: Walt Disney Television International
Product: Hannah Montana 3D Glasses
Brief: When the “Hannah Montana” 3D movie opened in 2008, over 10 million 3D anaglyph glasses were needed for audiences in Australia, NZ, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, UK, Sweden, Germany, and Italy. And the client looked to Wompro to handle every facet of this complex project, based on our proven ability to deliver quality products to multiple regions.
The glasses needed to adhere both to strict Disney International Labour Standards and to equally daunting technical criteria. Yet Wompro successfully handled everything: full design and creative, order consolidations, global shipping and logistics — all with a limited timeline of 4-6 weeks before the first rollout.
Solution: First, Wompro thoroughly researched and inspected 3D Glasses manufacturers globally before selecting the most experienced and capable suppliers for lenses, glue, frames and POS. We then gave the Hong Kong-based client a wide range of 3D Glasses solutions. Next, critical time paths with staggered deliveries were set for each region, with our Chinese warehouse handling all the distribution and shipping.
Results: We had total creative input in custom designing the items for each region, in selecting materials and decoration, and in packaging — while the client had the benefit of substantial cost savings by consolidating orders. So the “Hannah Montana” project had a happy ending, as we successfully supplied over 10,000,000 units to all nine regions.
